Life at the Beach – About float Designer Ramona Senese

Fashion Designer Ramona Senese has spent much of her life at the beach. A native of Charlotte, Vermont, Ramona grew up on beautiful Lake Champlain in Vermont, and spent many of her childhood summers with her grandparents at Jones Beach in Long Island, NY.

As a teenager, Ramona’s love for spending time at the beach blossomed into a summer job life guarding at Shelburne beach in Vermont. In college she frequented nearby Boston beaches, and when she moved to New York City she spent most weekends with family in Long Beach, Long island and also now takes an annual birthday trip to Hawaii.

As first a business student and later a student of fashion design Ramona attended Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where she received her business degree also a degree in art. After a short and very unfulfilling career in advertising she decided to move to New York City and follow her life long dream of becoming a fashion designer.  As a design student of Parson’s School of Design in New York City Ramona studied women’s and children’s wear. After graduation she began designing for upscale fashion brands shortly thereafter. Her love of bright colors and interesting patterns led her to flourish in the world of children’s fashion design, where liberal use of colors and prints allowed for more creativity than in adult clothing.

After designing in New York for the upscale baby brand Baby CZ, Osh Kosh B’Gosh and finally at the GAP Ramona decided to combine her love of the beach with her passion for design, print and colors and created float – an upscale collection of women’s resort wear that perfectly blends stylish clothing with artistic design. Made with luxurious fabrics and one-of-a-kind prints, float offers refreshing new clothing options for sun-filled days spent at the beach.

float launched in February 2007, bringing luxury and functionality into the resort wear arena. With next year’s collection already underway, Ramona is busy designing more unique prints and stylish options for the beach season ahead.
